MR. MACDONALD AT RIVERTON. Us Ifelesrauh—Press Association. Invarcargill, June 8. The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, visited Invercargill and and at the latter place received a* deputation resVu'ding local needs. In reply, the Minister said that increased production was necessary to enable the country to bear the financial burdens arising from the war, and secure that which was necessary to mate the position of Efcttlers as favourable as possible. Muck would have to bo done to improve roads in the country, but the cost was heaVy, and the shortage of labour made it impossible to do what was required. ■ ■
