By Teleuraph.—Press Association. Ghristchurch Juno 4. At Aldington stock market thero was a very large yarding of store and fat sheep. Other classes of stock were well represented. A dairy cow 'was sold for in the yards, which is n record prico so far.
The entry of store sheep was the biggest tliia year. The onality was fair, but tho results of the shortage of feed were evident, and there was a moderate demand for better sorts. The range of prices wast 2 and 4-tooth ewes, 19s. 3d. to 265. sd.> 4, C, and 8-tooth, 17s. Gd. to 295. 9d.i s.m. ewes, 10s. to 18s, Gd.; 2 and 4-tooth wethers. 235. 3d. to 2Gs. 3d.; fi and 8-tooth "wethers, 20s. to 215.; ewe lambs, 13s. Id. to lis. Id.; wether lambs, 9s. Gd. to 15s. Gd. The yarding of fat lambs totalled 4131, against 33G9 last week. The quality all round was surprisingly good, but tho prices were a shade below last week's rates. Tho range of prices was: Extra prime lambs, to 345.; prime lambs, 2Gs. 2d. to 295. 5d.; 'medium lambs, 21s. 10(1. to 255. lid.; lighter, lGs. to 21s. sd. , . '. There' was a very large yarding of fat sheep, and the quality wns rather above, last week's offerings. The values remained on a par with the previous sale. Extr;. prime wethers to 485.; prime, 355. to 425. 6d.; medium, 29.;. to 345.; lighter, 22b. to £53.; extra prime ewes to 415.; prime, 325. to 375. 2d.; medium, 245. Gd. to 31s. i lighter, 15s. to 235. The fat cattle entries were about tho average. The sale opened dully, but brightened, up as it progressed. Steers predominated in the offerings. Extra prime steers to .£23 \2s. Gd.; prime, ,£l-s. ;to JEI9; ordinary, =C 9 to .£l3 155.; extra prime heifers to .£ls 15s. Gd.; prime, £» 19s. to .£l3 10s.; ordinary, ,£7 2s. Gd. to £9 7s. 6d.; prime cows, .£lO to J315 7s. Gd.; ordinary, £7 10s. to .£9 17s. Gd. There was a moderate market of vealers. Runners, £a ss. to £6 10s.; good •venlers, £2 lfa. to £i 12s. Gd.; fair, .61 10s. to £'i 10s.; small and inferior, 4s. to 28s. ' The store cattle entry was rather small. The general quality was medium. Dry cows sold well, and prices were better by 30s. than at the previous sale. The entry of dairy cows was a large one, and the demand was good. For--cows ctoso (o calving the second and third calf, ■£!<• "to .£25; heifers, £1 10s. to .£lB. A mixed lot of fat pigs was penned. (equal 'to Bid. per lb.); heavy porkers, £2 15s. to £Z as.; ordinary, £2 ss. to £2 10s. (equal to 9d, per lb.). Though store pigs were scarce the demand was weak for any but good pigs. Medium stores, 325. to 385.; small, 18s. to 215.; weaners, Bs.yGd. to 18s.; sows in pig, to £o.
