MEETING OF PARISHIONERS.' * The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Anne's, Northland, was held on Monday evening, the vicar, the Rev. J. h. Jones, being in the chair. The vicar, in addressing those present, referred to the close of the war. Hβ hoped that when peace was signed they would bo grateful not only with tho lips but iu their lives. Herbert Watson, vicar of St. Peter's, to be the first archdeacon. The vicar then spoko of the loss tlie parish had sustained by the death of Me. A. Stuhbe who was tho vicar's churchwarden, and or Mr. il. M'Leod, who died during the influenza epidemic. The vicar offered his grateful thanks to tho various cliurch workers. . , Tho churchwardens' report pointed out that there had been a decreased attendonce at church, which was particularly noticeable when the church was reopened after the influenza epidemic, and this had' affected thb offertories. Tho grant in aid had been red need during' the year and there would probably be a further reduction • this year j this meant that there must be increased offerings to meet the shortage. The Sunday school building and site were finally freed from debt during the year. . The financial statement showed that the year began with a balance in hand of X'lß ss. KM. and closed :wifch a. balance of -CU is. 3d.; so that in spite of the difficulties experienced the parish had .been able to pny its way. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. -.The election of officers for the current ■year resulted as .follows:—Vicnr'e churchwarden, Mr. E. M. Grant; people's churchwarden, iUr. E.
