Tho official counts of the civilian votes in the licensing poll are almost complete. The Ion;: dohy has bean due to searches (or absentee votos in some electorates. The returning: olh'cors have beon perplexed in some cases by discrepancies between the number of permits issued and the number of votes east, the difference being due apparently to the failure of some electors io use the permits niter issue.
The final civilian majority for prohibition is expected to' bo about 13,600. The soliders' votes will convert this into a continuance majority of probably between MOO and 10,000.
There are 40,000 war widows in Canada, according to tho Salvation Army Commissioner.
