THE RECEPTION ARRANGEMENTS GOVERNMENT WILL WELCOME HIM Wireless news has been received from the Chatham Islands to the effect that the Arnwa, in which 'Major-General Eusisell is returning to New Zealand cannot arrive in Lyttellon until Thursday morning. The ship had been expected in port to-day. General Bussell is to be accorded a iocal reception in Christchurch on the ifny of arrival, lie will como to Wellington (he same night, and ha is to be accorded a reception by the Government in the Town Hall at Wellington at noon of the day of his arrival heTe. At present it seems probable that this reception will be held at noon on Friday. The Government offices will be closed at a.m. to enable employees to take part in the demonstration, and they will go to work again in tho afternoon. The Mayor is being asked to invite private firms to close their places of business in Hip samp way. .
After tho Town Hall reception General Hussell and a number of other guest?, tho number of whom must, be limited, will be entertained at luncheon in Parliament Buildinus.
General Bussell will probably leave for PalmersKra the same evening, to go on to Hastings, his home town, the following morning, either 'by sjiecial train or by motor. The people of Hastings are arranging to give Sir Andrew Russell a fitting welcome home. '
