MILITARY DEFAULTER SENTENCED

Br Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, April 19. The sentence imposed upon Charles James Rudd by a district court-martial in Christchurch this week, hns been confirmed. Rudd, who was formerly an insurance canvasser in Christ-church, pleaded guilty to a charge of disobeying the lawful command of his superior officer in failing to.parade at Kine Edward Barracks oil November 13, 1917, to proceed to camp with a draft cf CI men. Rudd was sentenced ti nine months' 'imprisonment, with hard labour.
