HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL
The monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council was held yesterday, Mr. F. G. Cooper presiding, and there were present Councillors J. Whiteman, W. Galloway, M.'W. Welch, and J. Cavanagh. It was decided to give two months'\notice to those having overhanging trees on the county roads to have the same removed.
Tlio Minister of Agriculture's attention is to be drawn to the growth of gorse on tho roads throughout the county, a|id requesting that steps be taken to , eradicate the' nuisance.
The Inspcctqr of AYorks (Mr. J. A\'. Cudby), in his report,' stated Hint tho liocessary road protection work at. To Mania was well on towards completion. About 18 iron rails had tan driven, and these we.ro being supported with wire crates and boulders. The county roads woro reported in very fair order, and the Day's Bay-Lowry Bay Road ■ much improved 6inco it had been patched up.
