ST. HILDA'S CHURCH
ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annual meeting of parishioners of the St. Hilda's Parish, Island Bay, was held on Monday evening. \ There was n good attendance. The report of the vestry stated that the result for the year, as far as ordinary working receipts and expenditure were concerned, was that offertories amounted to .£172 lis. 7d., and subscriptions to ,€l5O 6s. 3d., making a H"l of Mm 17s. JOd. Expe.is?s Mere .£327 ss. Bd., leaving a credit balanco for the year of .£1 12s. 2d. This was duo to the splendid way in which parishioners rallied round the,vestry in its time of jieed. and tho vestry recorded its nrofountl gratitude to all who helped. Special offertories nmounted to ,€23 IDs. Id.
During the year the vestry was compelled to take steps to acmiire a vicarage, and the vestry lis satisfied that an excellent bargain has been made, and that splendid progress bad been shown in reducing the initial liability. The system of collectine subscriptions had again been adopted. The vestry was prrateful to those who, had undertaken •the work, and anticipated that the coming year would be much more freo of financial anxiety in consequence. Tho following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Vicar's churchwarden, Mr: .T. Gruar: parishioners'- churchwarden, Mr: A. P. Barve*; vestry. Messrs. A. If. Anderson. T. fiibson, A. B. Johnson. R. Lock. T. M'Ewan, -W. Murrcll. 0. Proctor, Smith, S. Tanslcy. N. 1 F. TVilloughby; auditor, Mr. T. Proctor.
