SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

The concert given by Miss I. Nicholas at the Institute of the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday, before a very large audience, was highly successful in every way, and was much enjoyed by the men. Those- who were encored were the Misses Dor's Stevens, L. Nicholas, and P. Jones, and Messrs. K. C. Nurd, H. Maxwell, Lionel Inch, Lamb, Evans, Beynon, Kinsella. and Morgan. The Misses Nicholas and Lewis were at the pinno. Mr, Moore, roissioner, ' took for his temperance chat "In Twenty-four Hours." Pledges followed. The competitions wero won by men from the Leitrim and Hororata.
