GROCERS' UNION
The annual meeting of the Wellington Grocers' "Union of Employers was held on Tuesday, and the following officers were elected"for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. 11. D. Bennett; vice-president, Mr. W. Wylic; treasurer, Mr. J. K. Burley; secretary, Mr. H. J. Htott; auditor, Mr. E. Read; committee, Messrs. J. M'llraith, H. Wardell, D. Anderson, F. Swift, J. F. Redmond, and H. Janson. It was resolved that it be an instruction to the new committee that a federation of Dominion master grocers be formed, with headquartcrs at Wellington. Considerable discussion also took place with regard to the price recently fixed for bacon, it being shown that the gross profit intended by the Board of Trade to bo had by grocers was not, in fact, obtained. It was decided to state a case for consideration by the Board of Trade, an-l that a range of prices be submitted for various cute instead of the present method of fixing the price for the best cut. ■
