SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

The programme arranged for their guests by Mi; and Mrs. J. AA'. Carr at tho Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday was much enjoyed. Those who contributed items wdre: Mrs. J. AV. Carr and 1 the Misses Jacobs, Hyman, Boulard, AVallace, Copeland, Niven,-and. Snelling, and MessrS J. AV. CJarr, Brady, Ayerß. and j Bell, and Master Alton Carr. Mr. J. I AV. Carr was at the piano. Miss Stout, and the hostess sent prizes for tho competitions. During an interval tho wellknown mission jug was put up to auction by Mr. Mcore, for the dependants of the heroes who "went West" from tho merchant service. The party was warmly cheered for a liaspy evening.
