RUGBY FOOTBALL
SELWYN CLUB'S MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Selwyn Football Club was held last evening, Mr. A. Shearer presiding, in the unavoidable absence of the club's president, Mr. N. Austin. In connection with the amended Eugby rules, the following resolution was adopted :—"That the club recognised tho necessity of the rule.s Ixiing brought up to date, but in so doing the club was not in favour of any alteration other than a constitutional one, as it was of opinion that there must be a supreme union. A further resolution stated that the club was in favour of a more modern representative being elected for New Zealand on the Rugby Union Board. It was decided to commence training as early as possible. Thirty new members were elected. The following officers were elccted for the ensuing season:—President, Mr. N. Austin; vice-presidents, Messrs.- A. Shearer, W. Beck, J. M'Guire, J. Flack, R. Roberts, AV. Hornig, P. Geoghan, B. Murray, A. Stott, H. Lowe, J. Sullivan, F. Martin, J. Mosis, E. Gamble, D. Lewis, >W. WillianiEou. Fred. Cooper, — Henry, and A. Missall; club president, Mr. A. Shearer; secretary, Mr. A. B. Wogan; treasurer, Mr. H. Buok; delegates to Wellington -Eugby Union, Messrs. H. Buck, S. Wogan. and A. Shearer; management committee, Messrs. A. Lindsay, S. H. Wogan, R. Collier, H. Desmond, .and M. Swanwick; senior selection committee, Messrs. 11. Buck. A. Shearer, and A. Lindsay; auditors, Messrs. N. Austin and F. Cooper. It was unanimously decided to prepare an honours board, and a collection for this purpose taken up at the meeting realised i£2 13s. Gd.
