PROHIBITION RALLY

Messrs. Blake and Sims, returned soldici'3, addressed a meeting in the Masonic Hall at Heatoun Inst night. Mr. J5. A. Israel presided, and expressed pleasure at being able to do so for two returned young men, whose ideal was the 'nest conditions in repatriation and reconstruction. The speakers covered'much of the ground of former addresses, and further stated that the executive of the Returned Soldiers National Party of Victoria returned a cheque, to the Liquor Trndes" Defence Union, being an equivalent of donations paid to the funds, owing to their decision to support prohibition. Also that the Queensland Imperial Leagito had decided to exercise their influence., on the side of the elimination of the liquor traffic. The returned men ussertal that it was Hritisli pluck and not rum that took rascheudaekv also that in some of the great actions ono of thoni had taken part in rum was conspicuous by its absence, a French general saying that it was not needed. A. hearty vote of thanks was' passed to the speakers on the motion of Messrs. E. ICellow and A. Smith. The meeting was brought to a conclusion by the singing of tho National Anthem. "Does Prohibition Succeed" will be the subjec (of an address to bo delivered in tho Post Olfico .Square to-day by Mrs. F. M. Kankin and Mr. W. H. Hinton.
