The Makura, left Honolulu on February 27 for Auckland direct in continuation of her voyage from Vancouver, (She is due on March 11, and is time-tabled to leave there on March 17 for Suva, Honolulu', and Vancouver. The Niagara, en route from Vancouver to Auckland, is due at Suva to-morrow moraine and at Auckland en Tuesday. . PORT MELBOURNE A' CLEAN SHIP. The Wellington office of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line was notiticd yesterday that the Port Melbourne arrived at. Auckland early in the morning from London. Tho health, ot the troops on board wae good, and the Port Health Officer gave a certificate accordingly, allowing the vessel to berth at 8 a.m. The Port Melbourne ie for Homeward loading, but at -what ports would not be known until to-day. WHAKATANE LOADING AT NEW YORK. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company's Whakatano sailed from London on February 8 for Now York to load for New Zealand ports. No word hae been received locally of her sailing. BUOYS OFF CAPE FAREWELL. The Marine Department has issued a notice to mariners that the following mentioned buoys have been laid down in connection witn mine-sweeping, viz.:— Buoy marked No. 6, in latitude •Wdeg. 15min. 30acc. S., longitude 172deg. 37min. E., is moored in 63 fathoms sand and gravel. Curious Oliff bearing 179dcg. (S. 17cieg. E. magnetic). The buoy carries a small blue and whito horizontally striped flag abovo tho Burmount. Buoy marked No. 3. 203deg. (S, 7deg. W. magnetic), 3!,- miles from buoy No. 6; a red and yellow diagonally striped flag surmounts the cage. It is moored in 60 fathoms sand anri gravel. Curious Cliff I74deg. (S. i2deg. E. magnetic). Cape Farewell 158deg. (S. 38deg. E. magnetic). Buoy marked No. 7 is moored in position 10 miles Mdeg. (N. 4dcg. E. magnetic) from No. 6 buoy, in 70 fathoms of mud. A blue and white horizontally etriped flag surmounts the cage. Position, latitude 40deg. dmiii. Msec. S., longitude 172deg. 42mih. 45min. E. Buoy marked No. 8 is moored in position 34Sdeg. M'Gill, marine superintendent of the Andrew Weir Line, on the West Coast of South America, died of congestion of the liver on January 8, at Valparaiso. . ■ . ■ Captain H. S. The Union Company's Kauri will- sail today for Melbourne direct, taking cargo, which will be received till 2 p.m. ai the King's Wharf. The vessel will return to 11 New Zealand port with wheat. '•'■■ ■ MOEIiAKI BERTHS THIS MORNING. At 6.30 a.m. yesterday the Jiocraki dropped anchor in the stream on arrival from Sydney, and will berth at No. 1 Queen's Wharf at. 7.30 o'clock this morning. She will go to Lyttelton to-morrow night, returning to Wellington on Tilesdivy morning; and tailing at 3 p.m. for Sydney. U.S. AND A. STEAMER LEAVES NEW YORK. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., agents for the U.K. mid A. Line, announce that their chartered steamer Tjikembang has left. New York for Auckland, Wellington, and Sydney. The vessel is now well on her way, and should reach Auckland in uvo or three weeks timo. ' The Tjikembang, 8013 tons gross, is owned by the United States Shipping Board. (She is a steel screw two-twin masted vessel, built in -.September, 1914, at Flushing. Her length is 493.6 ft., and beam 58.3 ft., and depth 31ft. MOANA SAILS. Cable advico received by Hie Union Company states that the Moana sailed from Han Francisco on Saturday afternoon for Wellington, via Papeete and liarotonga. The Moaiitt IB due at Wellington about March 22. THE AEAHURA. The prospects of the Araliura resuming in the Napier-Gisborne-Auckland tcrvpe are said to be good. The Auckland office of the Union Company yesterday advised the Wellington branch that the vessel might sail lq-morrow, for Gisborne and Napier, in which case she will take up her usual running from the Hawke's Bay port on Monday night. EAST COAST SERVICE. The Monowai, on her southward trip from, Auckland via Napier only, is due at Wellington on Friday next, jHarch'l4. Tho same day she is fixed to sail for Lytielton and Dunedin. Owing to wnitiug for Wellington racegoers at the JNclson Meeting yesterday the I'ateena did not leave there till about V p.m., and consequently will not arrive here until about 1 0 clock thie morning She will leave Wellington for Pjclon and Nelson at the usual time to-day. With Canadian cargo shipped at Vancouver the Union Company's Mokoia. arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon. Complete discharge will he made there. Tho Livingstouia. (New Zealand Shipping Company), which has been loading wool at Auckland, will.sail on Sunday for London, via. Panama. Transhipment cargo is being taken by the Koivhai, which Iβ to sail at noon today for Dunedin. Overseas vessels moved outwards from Wellington yeeterday as follow:—The American sohooner Georgette for «an Francisco, end the F. and S. steamer Essex in the afternoon for Port Said, via a- West Australian port. Tho Burmu will to-day be piloted to the .King's Wharf to complete loading for tho United Kingdom. ■ The War Citadel, -which will start to bunker in the stream at Wellington today, will sail to-morrow for London, via tho Panama, Canal. The Mania, sailed from Auckland at 6 a.m. yesterday for Wellington to take in bunker coal. Due here 10-inorrow she will remain in the etrcani and leave on Monday for Port Said, via Albany. * Tho Argyllshire, at Auckland, is elaborately camouflaged and has a strong armament against hostile attack. She carries three guns, 0110 aft, one port, and one starboard. The two latter fire what is known as a depth charge, and arc used in connection wiih submarine- attack. They firo a 1001b. shell, which explodes under the water. Tito aft gun is a 4.7 naval one. Whilo at Colombo a Cingalese stowed away in the coal bunkers and was discovered a number of days out. He was given the work of cleaning the guns, and will bo returned to his country at a later date. , The French ship Amiral Cccillc, which IB to load wheat at an Australian port for the United Kingdom or Continout, will ship her cargo at Adelaide. Onsc oil for Wellington, Hobart, and Melbourne was to bo loaded by the steamer Toromeo, which arrived at New York on January 13. The Orepuki will, Jlcsera. M'Arthur Jeffries, and 00. advise, load at Wellington to-morrow or on Mouday for Greymouth. Vessels within wireless range to-day will be the Navua, Essex, I'atcena, Mararoa, and Maori.
