A carnival arranged by the Welling- . ton Swimming Club was lield at lo Aro . Baths on Saturday afternoon before ..tt : good attendance of tho public. The racing was interesting, some of the finishes being exciting. The Duthio Cup was , won easily bv the holders, Jit. Cook, and tho jit. Cook girls won the relay race for the Coltman Cup. ihe performance given bv J. Thomas,, winner of tho 50yds. handicap, was a very good one, his timo being 281-Sscc. J. Busted, formerly of Christchurch won the 100 yds. Inter-Club Handicap rather, easily. L. Patterson, who started off the scratch [ mark, won the 410 yds. Handicap, his performance being a good one. Anderson, who finished second, swam a good race and should develop into a first-grade per ; former. Miss Buckmaster won the Ladies Inter-Club 50yds. Handicap, her time being 35soe.
