TYPOGRAPHICAL UNION
■V well-attended meeting of members of the Wellington Typographical Union was ueld at the Trades Hall on Saturday evening to consider the proposed agreement between the employers and employees. Mr. D. Hyrio presided. The following resolutions v/c-re carried unanimously:—(l) "That this meeting of members of tho Wellington Typographical Union records its protest against tho proposed agreement between the employers and employees, r.nd is of the opinion that tho proposed 7s. Gd. per week increase is inadequate in view of tho continued increase in the cost of living. Further, that this meeting objects to tho principle of 'war bonus,' mid is of the opinion that increases should bo added to wages." (2) 'That the members of the Wellington Typographical Union at this meeting, iccog'iising that the agreement lias been signed and thero- ' fore must bo accepted, pledge themselves to strive during the next twelve mouths I for the full demands that have been put i forward or any variation ivhich seems necessary owing to changed conditions." Tcicrams from the Otago and Cantcr- | bury" Unions woro read, dissenting from the conference agreement.
