WAR RELIEF.

It was stated that a cheque for j8291 13s 4d , which completed the association s quota of iS7S for ono year to the regimental fund, had been sent to the Advisory Board. The next instalment is due on April 1, but the chairman observed that there was a chance that no miwo would hare to be sent. The meeting adopted a report of the Finance Committee which stated that the, total funds on January 31 were .£71,811. The excess of expenditure over receipts in Januiirv was The Relief-Committee reported:—'"the committee met on nine occasions since last meeting pf tho executive, and dealt ■ with 331 applications. During the last two months there kis been 60 heavy an addition to the requests for advice and assistance, other than by direct financial aid that more correspondence has wen thereby entailed than that resultant upon claims submitted tc the committee, although the latter are being received at an average of 2000 per annum, an increase of 25 per cent, over previous maximum."
