The Government of Queensland has proclaimed pneumonia a notifiable disease.—Press Assn. THE ARGYLLSHIRE'S TROOPS ATTEMPT TO RUN THE VESSEL ASHORE. ■ j Sydney,. February 10. According to one of the escapees.from the. Argyllshire, when the troops were told they would have to be quarantined for seven days,.a.large body of men secured control of the fore part of the ship, and hoisted two flags. Thoy pulled up the anchor half way, and attempted to get up steam with the object of running the ship ashore. While this.was in progress, three boats, containing 42 men, were lowered. Order, was. restored after 15' minutes, and all the escapees were subsequently recaptured—Press Assn. TROOPS TRANSFERRED TO A SPECIAL MILITARY QUARANTINE. (Rec. SWEDISH DOCTOR'S CLAIM INFLUENZA CURED 3Y HEAT. London, February 8. ' A noted Swedish physician, Dr. Bjoerson, claims that Spanish influenza can be cured by exposing the patient's back to a strong electric heat and light appliance, followed by tho application of heat compresses, which induce intense perspiration. He claims that numerous patients have been cured in two to five days by this process.—Reuter.
