PREPARATIONS FOR A GREAT TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—'Press Association—Oonyrieht London, January.ls. As Rugby Union and Northern Union players have freely played together in Army matches during the war, it was anticipated in some quarters that the Rugby Union would' permit a compromise with the Northern Union after the war, but the committee last night passed a resolution) refusing to modify the professional regulations beyond allowing tho present position to continue until the end of the season.
There is-every prospect of. a great English tournament to wind up the season. The activity of. the New Zea-lande-rs is inspiring the British forces to find the strongest teams. _ The Air Force has prepared an extensive series of trial games, and a committee lias been appointed to choose an Army tenm to meet the New Zealanders on March 15.—Aus.-N.Z.
