SEWER-GAS TRAGEDY IN MELBOURNE
THREE MEN FATALLY OVERCOME. (Rec. Doinmber 12, 7.35 p.m.) Melbourne, December 12. A sudden inrush of gas into a sewer at Richmond overcame a workman named Swannage and his companion, Aldridge. Passev?-by named Quinn, Griffiths, nJid Mills went to their assistance. All collapsed. Eventually firemen with gas helmets arrived. Swannage.'Aldridge, and Quinn wore quito dead.
