WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT IN AUSTRALIA
(Rec. December 12, 9.40 p.m. ) Melbourne, December 12. Responding to protests against the extension of the War Precautions Act for six months after the declaration of peace, Mr. Watt (Acting Prime Minister) stated that the Government had modified the Bill, making the extension to July 31, 1919, or for three months after peace, whichever period is the longer.—Press Assn.
