PITCHED BATTLE IN BERLIN STREETS
"REDS" WELL ARMED New York, November. 13. Mr. Cyril Browne, the New York "World's" Amsterdam correspondent, states that tho latest reports from Berlin say that a pitched battle between the Red Guards and. IJoyalista with ma-chine-guns is now in progress. The fust serious bloodshed may bring on a reign of terror. Armod Red Guards are parading tho streets in motor trucks. The Berlin "Rctls" are well armed, and have plenty of ammunition, and some soldiers cany hand grena'des. The Berlin polico has vanished. The only kind of order maintained is bv the R«d Guards, who regulate tho traffic in the congested parts of the city. Red Guards have occupied the Reiehs Bank, police headquarters, and the main telegraph office. Civilian* are also carrying anus, which is adding to tho general elements of in-security.—Aus.-N.Z.
