INTERESTING ARBITRATION ■ : : COUR.T_DECISION. Considerable interest has been aroused in Labour circles '.by the'■ decision of the Arbitration Court to the effect that .the'.Auckland Soft" Goods. .IJnion 1 is entitled to an award. Some months ago the Court, refused to make an award, :but now-it has referred the'dispute back'.to the ..Conciliation Council to bo dealt with on its merits. The case, is one which aroused general interest in union circles in May, when the refusal of. tho Court to make an award was announced, and it , was said then that the decision .was liable to have a far-reaching effect on ■ the trade union movement in New Zealand. .It was described as by far the 1 most important judgment which had been issued by the Arbitration Court, and one Labour secretary declared tiat it struck at the very root of the Arbi-. tration Act.: It was also claimed that it negatived a decision given., by .Mr. Justice Sim. .. ' Consequently the new decision of. the Court has aroused fresh interest in a which the unions regard as if great importance.' . ,
