AMERICAN STEAMER HERMAN PRASCH. Washington, October 4. The Navy . Department ; announces the' loss through a collision ,of the American steamer Herman Frasch (3804 tons). There are forty-one sur-vivors—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

The Hermann Frascli collided with an Atlantic oil-tank steamer, the George Henrj\ The latter was damaged, but stood bv and rescued the crew of the/ ,Hermaiin Frascli, which sank m seven minutes. The death-roll is expected to total fifty—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assu.
