The latter are, however, very firm, and if any camo tor-, ward they would meet a ready sale. Prime, oatsheaf chaff is still inquired for, and will command up to- &t at country stations. Thero is plenty ot inferior to be had, hut there is little demand for it. Potatoes are dull ot sale in consecjuence of the quantities that are' coining into the Dominion both north and south. Buyers for the northern market are not operating unless at reduced rales, but for coas.al ports there is a fair demand. Prices offered therefore vary, /as some Bier- ( chants are not inclined to give by, while over this figure has been Siren in markets not affected by Australian supplies. There is very little doing f onions, and the price is nominal, lliere is "ood inquiry in seeds lor spring sowing, and merchants report nrann better business than anticipated.-Red clover is very firm but white clover is not in sucli keen .demand. A line of linseed changed hands at £26. There is still a demand for mangels. - lipcountry they are selling at ss. per ton at stations. -
