■A. deputation I'rom tlifi School Committees' Association, consisting of the president (Mr. Wallace) and Mr. AVells, waited on the To Aro School Committee on Monday evening for the purpose of pointing out the advantages gained bv joining the association, and were welcomed bv the chairman (Mr. H. A: W. M'Kenjiie). After thanking these gentlemen for their addresses, it was decided to. postpone consideration until tho next monthly meeting. A sum ol £10 was voted for tho purchase of material for' inaugurating the Montessori methods of teaching at the infants' school in Gluiz.nee Street. Tho stoppage of salary of teachers who were given a month's leave preparatory to sitting at an examination for degrees caused considerable dissatisfaction, as it was thought the work was mainly to the future interest of the scholars. The chairman requested to write to the Kdncation Board with the view of endeavouring to have the salaries paid in full to thos») teachers who were given ji month's leave to prepare for an examination. i~ ■ •
