EXTENSION SEEMS PKOBABLE. The Minister in Charge of Imperial Supplies (the Hon. I). 11. Gutliric) has communicated to the Imperial authorities, through Air. Alassey, the. request of tho meat producers of this, country for .an extension of the purchase of frozen meat beyond tho present agreed period, which ends throe months alter the war. Tho now proposal is that the purchase shall continue until June 110 following the cessation of hostilities. Air. Guthrie said yesterday that (ho extension of tho meat requisition was not yet definitely settled, but everything pointed to acceptance by tho Imperial Government of tho offer mado on behalf of tho New Zealand producers.
