: The monthly meeting- of the Wairnrapa i &« d , East Coast .P. and A. Society was : held at Carterton on Saturday, Air C. , Reid (president) in the cliair. The i treasurer's.statement showed an overdraft of 41072 Is. 10d., receipts since last meeting .being 155., accounts totalling i £l0.183.;10d. being passed for pavment. j Iho canvass of Masrerten and Wellington in the interest of the prize list for the coming show was reported lo be quite.satisfactory.' :■ ?•. Callistet- wrote that lie would I still liko his special prize to bo allotted : for beat home 'garden kept bv boys at- ■ tending the Carterton School, "but 'would . be willing to allow the prize to bo given \ this year for the best individual plot in the school competition. It was deckled that the prize bo awarded for best ;.-individual plot in tho competition. ' Mr. W. Barton, FeuHiorston, wrote of- ! fering a special prize of M ss. for the ; best Friesian cow, three years old or ! over, judged on poinis. The offer, was ;' accepted, and a heartv vote of thanks was accorded tho donor. The New Zealand Milking Shnrlhorn I Association offered special prizes of .C 3 i 3s. and .£2 2s. respectively for champion ' 'ball and champion cow at the AVaira- : rapa Show. This was accepted with : • thanks. The New; Zealand Sheepbreeders' Asso- : ciation offered-their gold hiednl for the best 2-tooth Southdown mm, an offer ; which was accepted with thanks. The New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breed- . er's' Association stated that as long as !:tho conditions stipulated (in connection with that' Association's gold medal) were complied with, it would not be necessary to insert a special class in the schedule. ; • Tho New Zealand Pig Breeders' Association wrote forwarding a list of judges, j and advising that the association had , donated a shield for most points in Berkshire pigs, to be competed for each year at different shows. This vear the shield would go to Palmerston Show.. ; ' It was decided to procure another : trophy case in which to display the new : trophies and cups, totalling seventeen. ' The luncheon booth is to bo offered to : >tho Lady Liverpool and Bed Cross Com- ! mittee, Carterton, on the same terms as ! last year.
