THE MEAT COMMANDEER
A, meeting of representatives of the farmers' freezing companies was held iu Wellington this week. It was called in the first instance, to deal with some matters of detail in connection f with the internal management of freezing works generally. The question of the extensions of the meat contract was not on the order-paper and was not considered by the conference. It is unlikely that the matter will.be setltedin a hurry, as there is no .urgency about it at present, and it, is very likely that the growers of -meat, who are the persons most concerned, will wish to have something to say on the matter before it is concluded.
