Gartons aro inquired for for spring sowing, and vales aro greater than at this time last year. They are worth Is. 9d. per bushel at country .stations! Algerians are also firmer, anil 457 fid. to' 4s. 9d. is offered, and up to ss. for Duns at stations. Although there is a large quantity of oatshenf chaff in store, and the reliof that will be afforded by the special boat for Auckland will bo limited, there is still not a bad inquiry for prime bright, an.d £& 10s. is offered at near stations for chaff going not more than 2G to 27 bags per ton. Potatoes are firmer, as there ie a keen inquiry, and business is only .limited by the offerings end the scarcity of shipping. There are not many samples cc-niing forward, and buyers who are in immediate want of supplies (have to go out into the country .for them. This week up to £1 103. has been paid at country stations for whit" varieties. Onions also a¥e Very firm, at i2l to £22 per ton at stations.
