CITY'S CALL FOR MILK
MILITARY SERVICE BOARD'S ATTITUDE. A few remarks hearing on the city milk supply were mado by the chair- ' man of the U?eond Military Servieo " Board (Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M.) yesterday to a dairy farmer who was asking for the exemption of his son. Mr. Poynton said: "If wo were' to exempt your boy (I don't say that wo - will) you would nave to givo a' guaranleo to supply tho City of Wellington, • and not go sending tho milk to a factory. There is a temptation for dairy far- ' mers to do that, and in ordinary cirouni6tances a farmer has a perfect" right to do it, but seeing tho urgent call for mi)k for the city, we would only exempt ' him on condition ho sent it to ■Wellington."
