The fortnightly meeting <f the faciei/ for (he Prevention of Cruelly to Animals was held in (he society's office, Customhouse Quay, last evening, Mr. I , '. Meadmrcinffc in' (.he chair There was a fair attendance of member-?. Tho inspector reported.that he had endeavoured to get into touch with .five writer of an article in one of the dailv papers under tlip name of "Miscracordia," but hud failed to do so. He (the inspector) handed in a short report on mnl.ter.s alluded to by the writer. The fortnightly report dealt wilh included three horses and one sheep destroyed; fix horses put nit' work, aud the owner of a <log warned for ill-treating it. Subscriptions icceived amounted to '£& 10?. Gd.., including £\ 10s. from Jtr. and Mrs. C. R. Smitii and .CI Is. from Mr. F. Meadowcrol't.
