A MONEY DRIVE
A. money drive in the Kelburn and Terrace area is to bo made this afternoon on behalf of tho Red Jersey. Fund. Very complete plans for the raid have, been made by Mr. J. J. Clark, and a very satisfactory return is being looked forward, to. Residents will bo asked to place a Union Jack flag in their windows. Arrangements have been niado to sorenado the residents with band inusic, and Hie committee are hopeful of a very satisfactory day.. This novel idea of raising money has not only proved itself to be highly successful in New South Wales, where tho Red Cross recently secured a huge sum, but is mooting with good results by the Red Jersey Appeal Committee. Business people have now decided to niako this the main feature of thu Red Jersoy appeal in a big day in flfo city for Tuesday afternoon next, when it is anticipated that those who have not yet subscribed amounts .up to i.l>\svnd. .£lO will tako tho opportunity of displaying the Union Jack—tho emblem of our protection—in their windows, and thus swell Iho total Red Jersey funds by liberal contributions. The committee has decided that this shall tako the place of the special canvass of the smaller houses. On Juno 3 the final effort in connection with tho End Jorsey-Ecd Cross appeal will tako place. A big programme has been arranged, including a military display at Newiotvn Park, Nine bunds are to lend their nid, and 900 Boy Scouts will play a prominent part also. A big procession is being arranged, and the itssista'neo and co-qporation of the various baby competitors is sought in connection with a novel prize contest. A ju-ize, a valuable solid silver cup, lins been presented by tho proprietors of Glaxo, for the- best-decorated motor-car in Iho procession containing ono of the baby competitors. Each committee is nsked to decorato n( car, in which its baby competitor will have a seat, and thp cup goes lo tho bcst-dccoratcd vehicle. Tho cup is now on view in the window of Messrs. Stewart Dawson, Ltd. Committees are asked to send tho names and numbers of their candidates to Mr. Raeey, tho citizens' organiser, at tho National Mutual Buildings,
