CARRINGTON DISPERSAL SALE

The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd.; Stock Department, report on the dispersal solo of the purebred Shorthorn herd, held on behalf of Mr. W. Howard Booth, tt Carriugton. on May 2, as under:— 'i'ho attendance was highly satisfactory, breeders being present from all parts of the Dominion, and an exceedingly satisfactory sale has to l>o reported; in fact, several prominent breeders stated the sale was a record for the Dominion. Satisfaction was expressed at the arrangement.-? made, and the accommodation provided for yarding the cattlo could hardly bo improved upon. Generally speaking, the quality of.the herd, especially the hsifers, was of a high standard, and the sale went with a "swing" from tho commencement. A few of the cows with calves at foot were in low condition, and this also applied to the bulls, but, taken ill round, the cattle showed evidence of careful treatment, and the ?ale can be best described as animated throughout. Tho total herd of 82 lots, including calves, made the satisfactory average of 70 guineas. Mr. Robnrt Buick paid JOOgns. for Garrington Duchess 4ttn, -with calf,' and 220gns. for a heifer, Carrington.
