Moesrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, report having held a successful clearing sale on tho farm, Manakau, on behalf of llr J!. C. Calendar, on tt'ednepday. There was fairly keen competition for the 21 dairy cows which came under tho hammer, and considering thut this stock wae in rather poor condition prices realised must he considered aatißfac'ory. Bidding for young'stock was alao keen, and the sale all through was ppiriled. The principal prices were ae mdcr:--l)airj cows, closo to calving- £13, £15; spring calvers, £7 ICs.; £10; dry and cull eowa, £5, ,£6 10s.; 2-year springing reifers, £9, £11) 10b. A large catalogue of sundries wag a)eo offered, and these brought full clearing sale rates. Messrs. Balgcty and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly Lovin sale on Tuesday, when they offered a, medium yarding of sheep and cattlo. Hoggets wero in .fair demand, but other olaesos of sheep wore neglected. Competition for young cattlo was fair, but thoro were no buyers present for Bteers. Tho principal sales wero as under:—Medium woolly lamb?, 14s. 3d. to 14a. 5d.; medium shorn lambs, 11b. to Hβ. (id.; 2J-yoar steers (coloured),-£9 155.; 15-inontU steers, £6 Us.; poor Treancra, 17a. 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their Upper Hutt sale on Thursday, when they offered a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. Competition all through was sound; and rates were In advance of those- ruling at previous sales. The principal sales effected were as under:—Fat owc6 and wethers, Ms.; sound-mouth ewes in lamb, 255.; small 2-tooth ewes, 205.; small woolly lambs, 10s., lfls. 7d.; good woolly lamba, 175.; aged ewes, l<B. id. to 155.; 4-tooth f.f.m. empty ewe.?, 235.; 4 and 6-tooth ewea in lamb, 28s; 6d. Cattle: Light-weight fat. cows, £9 Zβ. 6(1. to £10 11s.; i-mpty cows, £6 17s. to £7 7s. 6d • i-ycar heifers, r.w.b., £7 145.; dairy cows in milk, £12 to £12 10s.; winter calvers, £12; spring calviirs. £9 2s. 6d. to £9 10a. Da-lgoty and Company, Limited, report that at their l'ahautanui sale on May 3, a good yarding of sheep tame forward, and competition under the. hammer was good, overy lino -ffered being disposed ot by auction. Wiiirlit, KteplK-iison and Co, Ltd.. report having held the ft , B.iln. at, Martinborouch on Thursday, when a large yarding of raltlc mid a, fnir entry ot Bhcep was oft'ereil to a good attcndancu of bnyers. Tho bulk of the yarding consisted of young Block of good quality, and none was allowed to leave the yard unsold. An outstanding feature of the sale was Mr. W. Hume's entry of ZOO weancr calve--!.
