WAIRARAPA NOTES
The Masterlou Borough Council lias set up a committee to confer with a committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Trust Lands Trust, with the object of evolving some 6chenie to bring about a reduction in fire insurance premiums. The Military Medical Board is at prosent sitting in Masterton. The Masterton Borough Council hus endorsed a resolution of the Greytown Borough Council, protesting igninst the parsimony displayed by the Wairarapa Hospital arid Charitable Aid Board towards old-age pensioners. A raid was made by military police on a scrub-cutting camp in the Lower Valley at an eany hour on Tuesday morning, but only one deserter was. bugged. The revenue of the Masterton gasworks for the month of March showed an increase of <£RS over tho correspondin;,' month of last year. The following is the South Featherston School Committee as constituted for the ensuing term:—Messrs. J. W. M'Kcown (chairman), J. IV. Henderson (secretary), P P.. Blader, T. Teasdnle, and ,T. Shaw. Kaiwaiwan-Me'ssrg. T. Tilyard (chairman), A. lorns (secretary), H. Merewood, A. B. Puge, and H. Williams.
