SUCCESSFUL YEAR'S WOE!. The president of the Wellington Boys' Institute, Mr. G. A. Troup; after referring to the Ion? continuance ot the war and the problem confronting the Empire of raising a race of men thoroughly equipped m body,- mind, and spirit, to take the places, of those who have fallen in battle, says: "Apart from tho fact of the new situation created by the war there are other envelopments about to take place in the work of the institute, in which the management will require careful guidance during , the coming year. Chief of these is the boarding establishment about to be opened. Hitherto tho work of the institute has been confined to the catering for the day or casual boy> so to speak, "he institute ?.s his club and school combined. From now onwards, however, a number of boys will niake the institute not only their club and school, but also their liome. A small xharge will be made for the accommodation and food provided, the institute meeting- out ot its own funds part of the expenses. ."Tt' was thought when th* present building was erected that ample provision for the extension of the work had been made for many years to come, but so great has been the increas? of membership that it is. : already evident the building is now tnsed to its limit, and if the same rate of progress 1s continued, extension of the premises will soon have to bo considered, .
