RECRUITING
EXTENSION OF VOLUKTEERING.
As the Minister of Defence announced on Monday, volunteering has been opened vo reservists of Classes C and I) of the Second Division, who are prepared to enter camp with the Forty-second licinforcemeats in the period of May 21-25. This arrangement was made in order to urovide additional recruits for the May draft,. and. bo -increase tlie .Dominiona immediate response'to the request oi the Imperial authorities;.for' more men for ticrvicOiOii tho West front. ': -.- -•• The opening'of these classes to voluntary enlistment has produced a prompt response-in Wellington. A certain- number, of C and.D men.have enlisted at the Buckle Street' Barracks during the last two or , three'days, , --while othet Second -Division men, already- attested for later reinforcements, have stated their willingness to enter camp with the Fortysecond Reinforcements' nest: month. Any 'man who has been passed fit. and attested for a draft later than the Forty-sec-ond may have his date advanced if ha wishes to enter camp next month.
