HEAVY FIGHTING IN PALESTINE

TURKISH ATTACKS REPULSED (Rcc. April 19, 0.50 a.m.) _ , Cairo, April 17. Enemy activity is reported along the whole of tho Palestino front. Eastward of the Jordan, tho enemy attacking the bridgehead at Gharaniveh was caught by our artillery and suffered heavily. The mounted troops pursued and took 53 prisoners. Many of the enemy lay dead on the ground. An attack northward of Wadi Raja was repulsed. The enemy repeatedly attacked between Berukin and Rafat, and in most stubborn fighting readhed Berukin, but later was driven out and the position restored.—Reuter.
