An officjal dispatch from East Africa stat63: "Since April 1 General Edwards's columns from the coast and General Nor.they*s columns from Lake Nyassa, despite the height of tho rainy season, have been converging against tho Germans, who were concentratod northward of the Lu,rio River. One of Northey's columns on April 5 occupied Mahua', south-west of Msaln. A detachment pushed eastward, and despite the flooded rivers inflicted severo losses. On April 11 the main German group was encountered moving north-west from Msala towards Mahua.
