SWEEPING THE SEAS FOR MINES
BRITAIN'S VAST PATHOL. London, April 15. The mine-sweeping fleet is now nearly forty times as large as it was in 1914. Its work has developed from a rough-and-ready method into a science. Tho average daily area swept is 1100 square miles, and so thoroughly is it done that thore havo been only three casualties in one particular area frequonted by thousands of vessels. The Admiralty records contain accounts of many fine acts of gallantry aud courage on the part of tho mine-sweeping crews.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
