ARGENTINA AND THE ENEMY
WAITING FOR PROVOCATION,

The United Press special correspondent nt' Buenos Aires interviewed_ President Irijroyen, who said: "Argentina's sympathetic approval has followed the United States step by step. The Argentine ia not indifferent to the international conflict, but tho difficulties of her position are not fullv viiidererood."
The interviewer asked why Argentina had resisted her people's evident desire to break'withj Germany. President Irigoyen replied: "When affronted by Germany wo demanded an apology and reparation. Both were granted. Therefore Argentina under the law was nnnblo to farther, despite individual wishes and national sentiments There is no reason to doubt what action we will takoin tho ovent of a further German affront."—Aus.-N.Z.
