LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY
The Wellington Centre of the Royal Life-saving Society met last night. .Mr. C. T. Bell presided over a good attendance. The Hon. T. M. Wilford, the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P.), and Messre.' J". P. Firth and II Ajuos wrote accepting positions as vice-presidents. The recent carnival held under the ftuepicos of the ladies' section was reported to have realised a profit of £i\ 18s. 2<!. A vote of thanke was accorded the ladies fo: , what was described au their splendid effort. On the motion of tho secretary, Mr. Collier, it was decided to obtain r.he opinion of members of the medical profession upon the question of the best methods to be adopted in certain phases of life-saving, in view of the possible alteration of tho centre's handbook on the question.
