METHODIST CIRCUIT
The quarterly meeting: of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit was held iu the Trinitv Schoolroom hist evening, when, the Rev. £, Drake presided over a fair attendance or officialo. Tlie report showed a slight increase in membership over the previous quarter. The balancesheet was considered highly satisfactory as it showed a credit baiance on the quarter's working of ,£43. which wipes out the circuit debt and leaves a credit balanco of .C 32. The reports of the Sunday schools wa9 considered satisfactory, though several schools still report a shortage of teachers. The resignation of , Mr. Oockrell was accepted with regret, several speakers eulogising the services rendered by him. Mr. ft. Withington iviip appointed circuit steward, in place of Mr. Cockroll, and Mr. A. Parker was appointed temporary envelope steward. After some discussion it was decided that the incoming minister, the Bev. Dr. Pinfold, should reside at Island Bay, and arrangements were made as to meeting him on his arrival.
