GERMAN SPIES IN ITALY
SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE AT A TRIAL. Milan, March 26. Sensational evidence was given ut the trial of seven spies in Genoa. Tho Germans purchased 26,000 shares in the Genoese Electrical Supply Company and placed seven Germans on the administrative board, and substituted Swiss and German clerks and foremen for the Italian staff. Their substitutes included the sewn spies now charged. Tho Germans devised shoib circuits, and Genoa was plunged into darkness repeatedly, and the power was cut off at critical moments when the Navy urgently needed it. The Germans transformed the Swiss Club into an espionage bureau, and maintained telephonic communication with the German Consulate. Tho German directors gained information of the concentration cf troops, and even visited Berlin. They were assisted by two girls, who had lovo affairs with Italian officers and obtained confidential news of the operations.
