James Olabby, the American boxer, who has been residtnt in Sydney for the past few years, has enlisted in tho Australian Expeditionary Force. Miss Una Carter will hold a gascooking demonetration to-day at 3 o'clock at the Wellington Gas Company's demonstration room. The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at Feathorston:—Cpl. J. E. Elliott, N.Z.D.C. (Tauherenikau) to bo sergeant; Cpl. It. B. Wills, Headquarters Instructional Staff, Cl Camp, to be temporary sergeant; Q.M.S. J. A. Thomas, A Coy., 38th, to bo regimental quartermaster-sergeant (temp.); Ptes. E. B. Logn,n and C. A. Settor, canteen staff, Tauherenikau, to bo temporary corporal; Cpt. H. G. Porteons, 40th . N.Z.F.A., to bo temporary sor-. geant.
