ST. JAMES'S ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of members of St. James's Football Club was held last overling in St. Jamos's Hall, Riddiford Streot, Mr. A. C. Kitto being in tho chair. Tho annual report stated that in the seasou 1917 three teams entered for the Rugby Union championship, ono each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. Tho sixth class team won the championship in their grade, tho fifth did exceptionally well, and but for. a breach on the part of 0110 of their numbet would probably havo secured the cham-. pionship. The fourth class team played somo fine games, but were not conspicuous in tho championship. The club, like others, lias suffered severely from loss of members owing to the war. Tho balance-sheet rhoirs a credit balance of 13s.
The chairman, in moving the adoption of tlie report and balance-sheet, regretted the small attendance, which was due to a number of other engagements to which members had been committed. He regretted the defection of the past year's sixth class team,' most of tho members having decided to play for Berhampore.
