"LOOK WHO'S HERE." Mr. Jack Waller's "Look Who's Here" Company appe-ired again at the Oriuid Opera House last night, aud gave a bright, and clever entertainment. The company will conclude its Wellington season tonight, aud a special new programme is announced for the occasion. The many talented members ct Mr. Waller's combination will bo seen at their best.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Tho Walter Johnson Revue Company appeared again at His Majesty's Theatre last night in the lively production, "The Gramophone Girls." JLis6 Amy Murphy and Mr. PMlip Newbury, the talented vocalists, were heard to advantage, and the other members of the company, including little Yerna Bain, tho clever child dancer, were successful, 't'herc will be a matinoo at His Majesty's this afternoon, and the usual performance in tho evening, when Miss Murphy and Mr. Newbury will make their final appearance.
'THE AUCTION' BLOCK" AT HIE KING'S.
To-day marks tho opening In New Zealand of the productions of the Goldwyn Company, the picture being "The Auction Block." This was Hex Beach's first incursion into the domain of the society story, and its success marked it as a daring and vital Btory of modern city life and its problems. The theme is tho modern marriage market, which is treated by the author as a development of the ancient slave mart, where women were sold as chattels. The heroine is a lovely girl who is considered by her greedy family, as merely so much capital. She goes to New York, and finds work as a chorus girl. The play treats with the extravagance and lavish waßte of money which mark the multi-millionaire circles of the American capital, and is said to bo remarkable for its superb setting. Tho Goldwyn Company, it is stated, have reached a new height in excellence of production. Reserves for the evening sessions may be had at the Bristol.
EVERYBODY'S .THEATRE. The second of the Triangle soven-rcel super-features, "Because of a Woman," is the star item to be screened at Everybody's Theatre to-day. The heroine is Belle Bennett, who appears in the role of a New York society girl. The working out of the .plot is Baid to bo most ingenious, and there are lots of surprises before the climax is reached. In addition to this feature will be shown Charles Chaplin in "The Shopwalker."
EXPRESS THEATRE. What war can do to an unfortunate girl refugee is depicted in the "Maid of Belgium," tho World' Film drama which ntars Alico Brady, to be screened at the Empress Theatre to-day. The conclusion to tho drama is Baid to be most powerful, and contains a general clement of surprises. Alice Brady is supported by a competent and even caste. Showing also is tho fourth series of Pathc's Special War Pictures.
