RED TRIANGLE DAY
BIG GATHERING IN TOWN HALL TO-NIGHT. The citizens' meeting to be held at the Town Hall to-night will be preceded by a most interesting series of war pictures, which will be screened at 7.30 p.m. by courtesy of the New Zealand Pictures Supplies, Ltd. These include a realistic view of the Battle of Messines and snapshots of Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward in aeroplanes. The National Anthem will bo played at 8 p.m., and will bo followed by speeches from Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward/ Sir James Allen, and Mr. A. H. Hindmarsh, M.l'. Vocal items will bo rendered by Mr. Philip Nowbury and Miss Amy Murphv, who, by , the courtesy of Fullers' Theatres Vaudeville, Ltd., have coneented to sing in the Red Triangle cause. There will be other interesting and diverting items in the enemy's programme, which, has been well planned. The auction sale of seats for tho Waller Red Triangle Night, by Mr. S. George Nathan, is expected to create a good deal of interest., '
GALA AT ISLAND BAY. Already twenty entries have been received for the boat race, in fishermen's boats, at the Island Bay gala on Saturday next. Great interest is being taken in this event, as well as'tn the many others in the afternoon's , programme. The sale of tickets is continuing at high pressure, and the public is invited to note that tho Is. ticket entitles the holder to tram rides from Courtenay Place to the Bay and back, admission to the gals, and afternoon tea.
