RAILWAY CONFERENCE
■The triennial conference of delegates of the Amalgamated Society of Rail* way Servants commenced yesterday. Tho proceedings are not open to the Press. .., In, the evening the. visiting delegates were entertained at a social. A number of representatives of the Labour organisations were present. The following Coasts were honoured: "The A.5.R.5.," proposed by Mr. W. Maddison, and'responded to by Messrs.. Hampton and Mack; "Labour Movement," proposed by Mr. A. Bruce and responded ito by Mr. J. Hutchison; "The Conference Delegates," proposed by Mr. M. Connolly and' responded to by Mr. Moore (Petone) and Mr. Davis (Dunedin); "Thorndon Branch," proposed by Mr. Elliott and responded to by Mr. M. Lee; "Kindred Societies," proposed by Mr. Dochertv and responded to by Messrs. Dennchy and Hanlon.
